BOX: Wedges up the left side are panga panga, panga panga, cocobolo. Wedges up the middle are osage orange, hard maple(?), cumaru. Wedges up the right side are ?(reddish brown wood), yew. The two horizontal thins at the top are yellowheart over machiche.

flaws/issues: Unfortunately, this one has several small flaws: There are noticeable ridges in the BOX due to wood movement (they're only tiny fractions of an inch but you can feel them readily with your finger), the machiche in view 8 has a small chip-out at one edge, the curly maple in view 1 has a rough area at the edge inside the rim where it joins view 8

comments: The main design element of this bowl is the contrast between the jagged-looking angles in the BOX contrasted with the flowing curve of the curly maple in view 1, as can be seen nicely in view 5c below. That part worked out really well, and there are several very nice woods in this bowl but still, the three small flaws mentioned above do detract from the bowl's quality, thus the low price.

The Siam rosewood in view 1 is nicely chatoyant and the curls on the curly maple in view 1 really look good from all angles.
