BOX: all of the pieces around the sides are bocote, the dark horizontal pieces are zircote, and the jagged lamination in the middle is bocote over zircote over redheart over ? (light tan wood)
flaws/issues: A couple of minor stress separations have developed in the BOX, most notably at the bottom of the lower piece of zircote. Even the larger one is visible only if you know to look for it and the smaller one is barely discernable to the touch, so I consider these quite minor and they certainly do not detract from the beauty of the bowl.
comments: The shedua in view 6 and the cowtree in view 4 are both nicely chatoyant
All of the bocote pieces have darkened somewhat with age.
