B180 --- $85.00 --- this is the orientation view --- more pics down below

diameter: 7 1/2"
height: 2 1/2"

finish: one application of natural stain then 3 coats of high gloss spar polyurethane (with UV blocker)

WOODS USED: [SEE DISCUSSION ON THE MAIN PAGE OF THIS SITE IF ANY OF THIS IS UNCLEAR]

base: yellowheart

view 1: purpleheart, padauk, zircote, BOX

view 2: ipe, chechem, curly maple, BOX

view 4: bocote, yellowheart, purpleheart, BOX

view 5: butternut, leopardwood, yellowheart, BOX

view 6: tulipwood, curly maple, partridgewood, BOX

view 8: Honduras mahogany, redheart, redheart, BOX

BOX: bottom up; machiche(?), leopardwood, purpleheart

flaws/issues: the purpleheart in view 4 has a small crack and the curly maple in view 6 has some edge tearout next to the butternut in view 5. Also, the curly maple has some burn-scrapes in the same area. These should have been turned or sanded off and my failure to do so constitutes a significant error, which has reduced the price of this bowl considerably. The chechem in view 2 has a crack that shows up slightly on both the top and the bottom.

comments: The tulipwood in view 6 is, as tulipwood almost always is, just beautiful. The zircote in view 1 is very nice, with some good ray flakes. The purpleheart in the box is just slightly disappointing but otherwise the woods are very good throughout. The purpleheart in view 1 is lightly chatoyant

If it were not for the curly maple burn marks in view 6, this bowl would be priced higher.
