C277 --- $75.00

diameter: 7 1/2"
height: 2 1/4"
shipping weight: 1lb 15oz (when asking about shipping costs, please don't forget to give me your zip code)

finish: one coat of natural stain then 6 coats of polyurethane (with UV blocker) then 2 thin coats of dewaxed shellac topped by 2 coats of clear flat enamel to take the shine off.

COMMENTS: The panga panga at the top of the middle has a particularly nice grain pattern and the sycamore at the bottom is perfectly quartersawn towards the outside of the rim and consequently has concentric ray flakes that look terrific. This is also true of the lacewood next to it. The purpleheart at the top is a beautiful example of that wood with a solid, rich, uniform purple color.

I ALWAYS POINT OUT ANYTHING THAT NEEDS TO BE COMMENTED ON. THESE ARE (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED) THINGS THAT DO NOT DETRACT FROM THE BEAUTY OF THE BOWL, BUT I WANT TO BE SURE I GIVE A COMPLETE DESCRIPTION. SO ... the butternut in the lower right rim has a knothole on the bottom (or it might be a worm hole) but that's just wood character, not a flaw and it doesn't show from the top at all. The American red gum on the right inside the rim has a bug track that was not apparent when I placed the piece. That's just the sort of thing that happens with wood, which is an organic material, but I would not have used the piece if I had seen that.
