video for bowl C239

C239 --- $75.00

diameter: 8"
height: 2 1/2"
shipping weight: 2lb 5oz (when asking about shipping costs, please don't forget to give me your zip code)

finish: one coat of natural stain then 6 thin coats of dewaxed shellac then 6 coats of semi-gloss polyurethane (with UV blocker) topped by 2 coats of clear flat enamel to take the shine off

COMMENTS: Fantastic wood in this one and because all of these are very hard woods, it's a little more hefty for its size that would otherwise be the case. I really like that bookmatched cocobolo in the middle but sadly it has darkened noticeably since the bowl was turned about 8 years ago (this is one of the bowls that I didn't finish processing for MANY years after they were turned). The bocote pieces have also darkened over that time and the curly maple has yellowed. If the colors were all still as vibrant as when the bowl came off the lathe, the price would be higher.

I ALWAYS POINT OUT ANYTHING THAT NEEDS TO BE COMMENTED ON. THESE ARE (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED) THINGS THAT DO NOT DETRACT FROM THE BEAUTY OF THE BOWL, BUT I WANT TO BE SURE I GIVE A COMPLETE DESCRIPTION. SO ... There are a couple of VERY minor stress separations that you can't even begin to see and which you can only lightly feel when you run your fingers over the bowl (there's one on the bottom that is more noticible with your finger and you can see it if you really look for it)
