comments: This is one of those ones that make me glad I changed my mind about symmetry (I used to not do symmetry in the bowl). Other than a slight imbalance in the redheart in view 2 (it narrows visibly as it goes from lower left to upper right, and this is visible in the orientation view at the top of the page), the symmetry is excellent, and I am very pleased with the choice of contrasting woods.
The curly maple in views 4 and 6 are only so-so but the rest of the rim all has an excellent curl as you can see in the pics.
NOTE: The wenge is not as dark as what shows up in the pics (which make it look almost black). It's really a VERY dark brown, with a visible grain pattern.
