video for bowl C220

C220 --- $95.00

diameter: 8"
height: 2 1/2"
shipping weight: 2lb 1oz (when asking about shipping costs, please don't forget to give me your zip code)

finish: one coat of natural stain then 10 thin coats of satin-finish spar polyurethane (with UV blocker)

COMMENTS: Other than a slight imbalance in the redheart in lower right (it narrows visibly as it goes from lower left to upper right, the symmetry is excellent, and I am very pleased with the choice of contrasting woods. A couple of the pieces of curly maple are only so-so but the rest of the rim all has an excellent curl as you can see in the pics.

NOTE: The wenge is not as dark as what shows up in the pics (which make it look almost black). It's really a VERY dark brown, with a visible grain pattern.

I ALWAYS POINT OUT ANYTHING THAT NEEDS TO BE COMMENTED ON. THESE ARE (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED) THINGS THAT DO NOT DETRACT FROM THE BEAUTY OF THE BOWL, BUT I WANT TO BE SURE I GIVE A COMPLETE DESCRIPTION. SO ... The hexagon of redheart in the middle has faded slightly to a brownish red. Two noticeable separations have developed in the middle, one of which is the horizontal line across the middle (not a bad one) and the other runs at a slant along the inside of the yellowheart in the lower left. This one is more noticeable and as a consequent, I have reduced the price from $125 to $95 even though the visual impact of the flaws is minor and the bowl is a real beauty.
