BOX: top and bottom are padauk and wenge. Inner lamination, in the center from the bottom up are BUTT-END surfaces of; purpleheart, maple veneer walnut, maple veneer, bubinga, purpleheart, beech, padauk, walnut, osage orange, bubinga. To the sides, starting at the curly maple of views 4 and 6 and moving down and in towards the center, are; mahogany, purpleheart, bubinga, maple, walnut, maple, walnut, and then from the lower, outer corner moving up and inward; maple, walnut, maple veneer, zebrawood, aromatic red cedar, purpleheart, maple veneer, walnut, bubinga.
flaws/issues: The mahogany at the upper right and left corners of the BOX each have a slight indentation at their outer edges where they touch the osage orange of views 2 and 8, because The BOX was not properly turned down all the way. The indentation is very slight and is not particulary noticible visually, but it can be felt with your fingernail.
comments: The BOX is one of those remnants of the laminations I did up about 20 years ago to use in making play-blocks for my son. The complex nature of that lamination plus the strong grain pattern of several of the woods make this a fairly "busy" bowl, but in what I feel is a good way.
