BOX: a jagged lamination. The dark wood in the middle of each piece is zircote and above that is ? (a light wood), and above that is redheart and above that is red oak. Below the zircote is sapele and below that is purpleheart veneer then oak.

flaws/issues: The jagged lamination in the BOX has a light colored wood in the middle of each piece that was shallower than the rest of that lamination and some of it got turned off, making the very middle of the bowl look less symmetrical than it would otherwise have been.

In view 5, there is a slight separation that runs half the length of the joint between the cocobolo and the sapele. It's obvious if you catch the light just right but not otherwise particularly noticeable visually. It is noticeable to the touch.

There is a chipped edge in view 1 between the cocobolo and the (?) wood towards the middle. This is result of a less-than-perfect glue joint that I obviously didn't notice as I was making up the blank. It's very minor, hardly noticeable to the eye but obvious to the fingernail.

The maple in view 8 has three voids rangeing from miniscule to a very noticeable one on the lower outer rim
