BOX: from the bottom, walnut, aromatic red cedar sided by padauk, aromatic red cedar, walnut, bocote, aromatic red cedar.
flaws/issues: the walnut in the BOX has a worm-hole but I'm going to call this character, not a flaw.
The walnut veneer in view 1 has a stress separation that is not particularly visible but noticeable to the fingernail.
comments: The purpleheart in this bowl is particularly nice. All the surfaces, including the bowl bottom and the inner rim, are flat on this one --- there are no curved surfaces (other than, of course, the circlular curvature). This makes for a more difficult turning job, but it was worth the effort on this one as the result is quite pleasing.
