view 5: red oak, cypress, sapele, BOX

view 7: walnut

view 8: walnut, ? (yellowish wood)

BOX: top and bottom are bocote and on the sides are diagonally split sets of pine/pine showing a quartersawn face and a flat cut face. The middle is a horizontal piece of walnut and above/below it starting from the left are sycamore, mahogany, bubinga, red oak, purpleheart, aromatic red cedar(?)

flaws/issues: The last piece of ash in view 3 has a small surface dent. This happened on the lathe and I didn't want to turn the whole bowl down far enough to get rid of it because doing so would have required ruining the black ash / wenge oval in view 4 and I wanted to keep that.

The afrormosia in view 6 has a small separation from the walnut of view 7 at the edge of the flat portion of the bowl. This isn't very visible but you can feel it with your fingernail. On the bottom of the bowl it's a little wider and more visible.

comments: I feel that the BOX on this bowl has two problems. First, the off-center placement has worked well on some bowls but not so well on this one and second, the box itself is just not very attractive.

The bocote in view 2 is particularly nice and the tulipwood oval in view 3 (see below) strikes me as particularly attractive, especially with the dark veneer setting it off.
