view 5: mystery wood #145, padauk, padauk, BOX

view 6: zebrawood, sapele, basswood, BOX

view 8: walnut, paela, yellowheart, BOX

BOX: all of the dark wood is wenge, the brown wood is billy webb wood, and the tan lines are double thicknesses of thick birch veneer.

flaws/issues: The zebrawood in view 6 has a tiny chip-out on the top right next to the rim. It's barely visible, but it IS a flaw.

As you can see from the bowl blank pic below, there was more wood around the rim to start with than ended up in the final bowl and that's because the lamination in view 8, with mahogany outside of walnut and separated by padauk veneer, was not properly glued up and had to be fully turned off, thus also eliminating the outer piece of purpleheart in view 2. This is not a flaw in the final bowl, I just point it out for your entertainment (yeah, I know, it's weird what I find entertaining).

comments: Really outstanding grain pattern in all of the wenge pieces in the BOX.

An almost symmetrical bowl with the symmetry broken only by the fact that the outer wood in view 2 is osage orange and that in view 8 is walnut
