B191 --- $75.00 --- this is the orientation view --- more pics down below

diameter: 7 1/2"
height: 3"

finish: one application of natural stain then 4 coats of high gloss spar polyurethane (with UV blocker)

WOODS USED: [SEE DISCUSSION ON THE MAIN PAGE OF THIS SITE IF ANY OF THIS IS UNCLEAR]

base: mahogany

view 1: curly mahogany, canary, purpleheart, BOX

view 2: cumaru, mahogany, curly maple, BOX

view 4: cocobolo over walnut, curly maple, partridgewood, BOX

view 5: padauk, Peruvian walnut, curly maple, BOX

view 6: bocote, bubinga, yew, BOX

view 8: kuruguay, redheart, yellowheart, BOX

BOX: bottom to top; wenge, canary, purpleheart veneer, osage orange, purpleheart

flaws/issues: The kuruguay in view 8 has a crack on the upper rim and I had to slice the sharp edge and sand it, so there is a minor but noticible indentation along the rim.

The curly maple in view 4 has a slight turn-burn just below the upper rim as you can see at the top of view 7c below. I should have sanded this off. The same piece has a rough spot on the bottom of the bowl

comments: The cocobolo in view 1 is a very nice piece, as is the bocote in view 6. The mahogany in the base is unusually well-figured. Nice woods throughout --- not a single disappointment in this one although the curly mahogany in view 1 looks better from the bottom than from the top and I wish it were the other way around.
