B182 --- $110.00 --- this is the orientation view --- more pics down below

diameter: 8"
height: 3"

finish: one application of natural stain then 3 coats of high gloss spar polyurethane (with UV blocker)

WOODS USED: [SEE DISCUSSION ON THE MAIN PAGE OF THIS SITE IF ANY OF THIS IS UNCLEAR]

base: Honduras mahogany

view 1: purpleheart, kuruguay, tzalam, BOX

view 2: a tiny sliver of red maple, white oak, East Indian rosewood, mulberry, BOX

view 4: wenge over billy webb wood, bubinga, curly maple, BOX

view 5: canary, padauk, redheart, BOX

view 6: wamara, yellowheart, red maple, BOX

view 8: redheart, pine, partridgewood, BOX

BOX: bottom to top; purpleheart, lacewood, machiche

flaws/issues: The kuruguay in view one has a crack on the bottom. I don't believe this is a stress fracture, but rather a drying flaw. It did not show up until the surface was turned down into the piece of wood and I would not have used the piece has I known of the crack.

The wamara in view 6 has a worm-hole spot on the bottom (the kind that fills back up with powerdery wood of a lighter color).

comments: Really nice curvature of the inside --- sort of makes the top portion of the bowl look like the top of an inactive volcano. The redheart in view 8 has a nice variety of red shades and the wamara in view 6 is a very rich shade of brown.
