view 1: the long V is a lamination of ash and bubinga thins and the short V is sycamore and the rest is walnut over maple veneer over walnut over sycamore and the whole thing backed by mahogany

view 5: the dark wood in the middle is all mahogany except the two slightly lighter pieces which are makore, and the light wood is all hard maple, and all of this is over padauk and backed by an unidentified light wood. comments: This is one of the early "dried flower holder" shapes that was intended to have holes drilled in the un-hollowed-out middle to hold dried flowers. If you would like to HAVE those holes, I will drill them and add a sealant, but it may take several extra weeks to finish it, depending on my availability to work on it. There will be no extra charge. To get a feel for what it will look like, see bowl B116.

flaws/issues: the right side of the mahogany backing in view 1 has a diffuse gum pocket that causes a slight blotch in the finish. Hm ... now that I think about it, I don't believe in coincidences and that section of wood turned grain-on into the chisel, so this COULD be a burn rather than a gum pocket. At any rate, it's minor and as you can see in views 1b and 2b below, it's barely visible.
