G17 --- $190.00 --- this is the orientation view --- more pics down below

diameter: 7 1/2"
height: 6"

finish: one application of natural stain then 3 coats of high gloss spar polyurethane (with UV blocker)

WOODS USED: [SEE DISCUSSION ON THE MAIN PAGE OF THIS SITE IF ANY OF THIS IS UNCLEAR]

base: the upper portion is 4 sections of black ash and the lower sections are:
view 1: canary
view 3: shedua, ebony veneer, pine, tulip poplar
view 5: osage orange, aromatic red cedar
view 7: shedua, pine, tulip poplar

center: 4 center sections of Honduras mahogany and small remaining outer wedges of okoume

view 1: jagged lamination of (from the top down) purpleheart, yellowheart, partridgewood, curly maple, with macawood on both sides and all backed by Peruvian walnut

view 3: aromatic red cedar, mahognay (with a faint blue-stain), cocobolo, mahogany, all backed by thick walnut veneer (visible inside), then mahoagany

view 5: high-grain mahogany split by basswood backed by padauk veneer then red oak, with vertical wedges of ?(porous brown wood) on each side and all over bocote that is mostly sapwood and then all that backed by aromatic red cedar. the thin white vertical stripe on the right side is actually wood-filler that was necessary to cover some serious chip-out on the piece next to it, but hey, you can tell everyone it's basswood. :-)

view 7: canary, ?(light colored thin), thick bubinga veneer, Honduran rosewood with sapwood, silky oak, redheart backed by bocote, mahogany, and all of that backed by prima vera with heavy blue stain

flaws/issues: The thin vertical white line on the right side of view 5 is wood filler (paste) that was needed to cover some serious chipout of the piece to its right. Fortunately, it has exactly the same color as the basswood in the center of this view and it is not obtrusive in any way.

comments: the mahogany in view 5 and all of the outer sections in the base are nicely chatoyant. The yellowheart sections of the jagged lamination in view 1 are also chatoyant

The base is particularly nice in this bowl
