BOX: the little green wedges at the bottom are mineral stained tulip poplar, then going up the middle from there, paela (the brighter orange on the lower portion of each piece makes it look as though there are two different woods), redheart, eucalyptus, redheart (and canary slanting down from those two on both sides), mahogany and slanting down from it is aromatic red cedar, ash veneer, padauk veneer, maple veneer, mahogany veneer, walnut, then next up the middle is redheart under paela and slanting down from them both is very dark cocobolo, the above the paela are little wedges of canary sided by ebony veneer sided by chechem and above that is sipo then western fir.
flaws/issues: To get the curve of the inside right on this one I did more sanding than I usually do and because there are some woods that are harder than others, there is a very slight uneveness to the curve. You can feel it particularly stongly if you move your finger from the very center out to the edge of view 2. Also, despite all the sanding, I managed to leave two circular scratches near the center that remain faintly visible (more visible in the bowl itself than in the pics).
There is a small separation at the top and left of the BOX. This is not very noticible visually but you can feel it with your fingernail.
Because of the turning flaw and the separation at the BOX, I have priced the bowl lower than I otherwise would.
The oak in view 4 has a minor mineral streak. The padauk in view 8 has some tiny chipout just below the upper rim.
comments: ARRRRGGGHH ... once again I managed to cut myself on a spinning edge. Before I dulled it with sandpaper, the upper edge of the rim was razor sharp and I sliced the side of my hand with it. As I frequently point out in discussing the bowls, I dull these edges both to prevent cuts and to prevent nicks on the bowl.
This one is heavier than most
LOTS of really nice wood here and all a little on the "busy" side.
