view 5: mottled sapele, redheart, prima vera, BOX
view 6: Honduras rosewood, sapele, bubinga, BOX
view 8: osage orange over ebony veneer over olive over white oak and all backed by bubinga, BOX
BOX: the dark woods are all wenge, the brown woods are all billy webb wood and the tan lines are double thicknesses of thick birch veneer.
flaws/issues: The curly maple in view 4 has a rough spot inside the rim that has picked up some red dust from the rest of the bowl while turning and it is now stained slightly red. This can be readily seen at the rear of the pic of view 7c below.
comments: That oval in view 1 is really spectacular. The mottled sapele in view 5 is nicely chatoyant and the redheart behind it is a beautiful piece. The paela in view 4 is chatoyant, especially at the grain shift right in the middle. Other than the padauk next to the BOX in view 1, which is very dull for the species, there's nothing but excellent wood throughout this bowl.
NOTE: yellow colors are too bright in these pics
