diameter: 6"
height: 2 1/2"

finish: one application of natural stain then 5 coats of high gloss spar polyurethane (with UV blocker)

WOODS USED: [SEE DISCUSSION ON THE MAIN PAGE OF THIS SITE IF ANY OF THIS IS UNCLEAR]

base: Honduras mahogany

view 1: redheart, poplar, sapele, BOX

view 2: white oak, purpleheart, yellowheart, BOX

view 4: billy webb wood, wenge, zebrawood, BOX

view 5: silky oak, Honduras rosewood, BOX

view 6: padauk, fir, BOX

view 8: bocote, shedua, BOX

BOX: on the left side is yellowheart then Honduras rosewood and to the right of that, from the bottom to top, is silky oak, machiche, redheart.

flaws/issues: The fir in view 6 has edge tearout where it meets the silke oak of view 5 inside the rim

comments: The redheart in the box has ray flakes, which is not all that unusual in redheart, but not all that common either. The zebrawood in view 4 has an unusually widely spaced grain pattern on the top (but not on the bottom) --- I think it was cut next to the sapwood. The padauk in view 6 has that squiggly grain pattern that sometimes occurs in padauk but can be hard to capture becuase it only shows when the surface cut is just right.
