BOX: from the bottom up; canary, holly, two plies of gaboon ebony veneer, padauk, two plies of gaboon ebony veneer, yellowheart. At the top, moving outward from the yellowheart is redheart then cowtree. Angling off from the holly is padauk and angling off from the center padauk is cowtree over cocobolo over ?(probably makore)

flaws/issues: The bubinga in view 5 is weird piece --- possibly a burl or partial burl, but in any case it has burl-like swirly grain and some gum inclusions, one of which shows up as a void in the rim on the left side of the piece. It is quite obvious both visually and tactilly, but I consider it to be wood character, not a flaw, and I used this piece knowing that it had several such issues.

The osage orange in view 5 has a knot, as you can see in the pics. Both pieces of andiroba have minor pinholes. These are wood characteristics that I was aware of when I used the pieces, not flaws, but I point them out so there will be no surprizes.

comments: Numerous very nice pieces of wood in this one. The macawood in view 6 is a standout. The silky oak in view 4 has terrific ray flakes on both the top and the bottom. The chechem in view 3 is beautifully chatoyant as are the small cowtree pieces in the box, and the macawood in view 4 is lightly chatoyant
