B164 --- $75.00 --- this is the orientation view --- more pics down below
diameter: 8 1/2"
height: 2 1/4"
finish: one application of natural stain then 2 coats of high gloss spar polyurethane (with UV blocker)
WOODS USED: [SEE DISCUSSION ON THE MAIN PAGE OF THIS SITE IF ANY OF THIS IS UNCLEAR]
base: this was made from one kind of light colored wood and one kind of dark colored wood, and I can no longer identify what either of them are. I believe the darker wood is makore.
view 1: tzalam, canary, BOX
view 2: walnut
view 3: mahogany over redheart over oak, maple veneer, mahogany, prima vera, BOX
view 4: tulip poplar, aromatic red cedar over redheart over oak over walnut (mostly sapwood)
view 5: obeche, aromatic red cedar, BOX
view 6: tulip poplar
view 7: machiche, mahogany, pine, BOX
BOX: bottom and top are bloodwood with beech(?) next to it. Left side is walnut then redheart. Right side is redheart with osage orange (mostly sapwood) next to it. in the middle top and bottom is a very dark red wood that I believe is cabreuva, and the very middle is walnut in the lower left (two wedges) with padauk to the right of that. Above the walnut from the left is mahogany(?) then padauk and in the upper right middle is bocote
flaws/issues: There is a stress separation at the top of the pine in view 7. It is difficult to see but noticible to the touch so the price on this bowl is a little lower than it would otherwise be.
comments: The tzalam in view 1 is a marvelous piece
